[well, time to make this as straight to the point as he can. because it's weird and he has other people to do this with too.]
Hey. About what happened in the library other day—how about we just pretend it never happened. [so embarrassing. so embarrassing. and yuri's not one who is easily embarrassed but that whole situation was just not his style at all.]
[mikleo's a good guy, even if he didn't help yuri break out of the hospital. his expression darkens very slightly for a moment at the mention of flynn, though.]
So he got to you too, huh. [seriously, flynn. how many people did you do this to? S I G H.]
Flynn's fine now. [just guilty as hell for being a sleazebag, as he should be.] I'm sure he'll come apologizing to you when he gets the chance. He's not the type to just let things like that go without trying to fix it first.
He got to me and had a duel with Sorey. Normally, I would've tried to do damage control, but let's just say that I was a lot more encouraging of dangerous situations by the time those two found me.
[Mikleo nods.]
At least he's alright. [The water seraph shakes his head, frowning.] Honestly, what does this place even gain from all of this?
A duel... what an idiot. [flynn, that is. but at least he didn't somehow coerce mikleo into bed, so that's a good thing. that just seems like it would be a bigger mess to clean up with nobody was really actually consenting to anything.]
Who the hell knows what they're after. Probably just their own sick amusement.
Honestly, everyone's been at least a little bit of an idiot during the past week. [He's very glad that Flynn didn't carry him off and that Sorey got to them when he did. Even if his best friend was acting just as bad as the other human.]
I'd be inclined to agree with that conclusion, especially after all that you, Sorey, and others have told me that happens here. However, a couple of incidents don't seem to add up to it. Namely, the flooding in the colony and everyone being dumped into the jungle. Perhaps especially the jungle, considering it's the first I've heard of people experiencing something outside of Cerealia.
Guess nobody told you what that's all about. [weird. someone should have; even yuri knows.]
Most of the stuff we deal with is because of CERES. They don't make much of a secret of it. Those other things weren't them though. They're... I dunno what you want to call 'em. Spirits, or deities... something like that. Nobody's really sure what their deal is either, but they don't seem to like CERES or this city all that much and getting us involved seems like we're just the collateral damage for whatever they're trying to do. Put a wrench in their plans. Something like that.
CERES wasn't mentioned, but the Spirits were. Still, it's not as if anyone has given me the real history behind Cerealia from beginning to present. Books on the subject are so vague and heavily biased in Vincere's favor that there's only so much truth I can get from it.
[Then again, it's why he wants to look into those ruins in the jungle Sorey mentioned.]
The Spirits seem to parallel something from my world. The Five Lords, the seraphim powerful enough to be the source of our Seraphic Artes through their blessings. Fire, water, earth, wind, and void, the one without an element. My bet is that either Vincere or the new CEO are the cause for their dislike.
Wouldn't surprise me. Vincere was a real piece of work, but we never actually heard from our spirit friends until the old bag started running the show.
[take that as you will, mikleo. yuri's got his own ideas, but he doesn't have enough evidence to call it anything resembling definitive for the time being.]
Of course not. Honestly...it'd be nice if humans in a position of power could be forthright and truthful, but no. Those types are just too rare in that line of work.
[He shakes his head. This conversation has certainly derailed itself.]
At any rate, I appreciate you calling me. And, uh...seriously, I'm sorry about slamming that book in your face. I've been meaning to apologize for that once you got better.

All things considered, I'd be more than okay with that.
[Although...]
Is Flynn alright? I, uh...kinda ran into him at one point and wanted to know if he's...back to normal.
[Ugh, remembering that still makes him flustered. Ugh ugh ugh.]

[Really, it's a shame this place is out of his league in a technological sense.]

[he kind of forgot that part even happened until now. there were too many more horrifying things said and done to make that even a blip on the radar.]
